Killing the laptop

Ah today was such a lovely day. Had some school work to finish up which required me to install a UNIX/Linux system on my computer, no big deal. Oh yeah, of course the fact that I missed that I had install another program first other wise it will kill your computer part. So stupid me, tried to load it, wondered why it wasn't working and saw the computer is locked up. Great, rebooted and Windows won't start, schweet so I try safe mode, system recovery and the dreaded reloading of the operating system from the disc. All that to no avail, crap, call gateway and long story short they are sending me a new hard drive free of charge (still under warranty). Le sigh... so the moral of the story is simple, read ALL of the f'n instructions and install crap on a computer that you can afford to kill off lol My wife told me I was very lucky because the computer I'm on at the moment has all of our picture from our digital camera on it. Well I might have had a crapper of a day but all wasn't lost.
